Hike Cerro de Oro


This hill is located at the slopes of Atitlan Volcano, used by Shamans as a Mayan altar. The Shamans believe that this hill is a portal to the “Xibalba” (Underworld). This Hill is well known as “Cerro de oro” inspired the Sleeping Elephant character in “The Little Prince.” In this hike you will walk around 2 miles (3.22 km.)

Departure time: 7:00 7:30 (depends on where are you located)

Return time: 3:30pm – 4:00 pm (depends on where are you located)

This tours package includes:  Public boat to Santiago, breakfast or lunch, transport to  Cerro de oro, entrance fees and a bilingual guide.

Price: $70 per person.

Guide picks you up at your house or main dock of the village near by depending where you are (will be confirmed at the moment of booking)
